What was ONSTAGE? contemporary ballet and modern dance
Directed by NYC choreographer Rebecca Kelly, ONSTAGE provided dance training, rehearsals, and performance since 1989 at Lake Placid Center for the Arts. The intensive course provided a process-oriented work experience, while preparing for performance. Students ages 7-19 years explored a variety of dance techniques, with ballet as the core discipline, designed to cultivate confidence, expose students to new ideas through the arts, and to experience the satisfaction of striving toward excellence.   Read TESTIMONIALS, & RKB Art in Education in the Adks. pure fun to pre-professional. All students learn dances and participate in classes specially tailored to develop and challenge their skills. The camp concludes with an evening and/ or Friday morning public performance.

NEW VENUE HOSTS are welcome and we encourage you to contact us and work together to design a program that suits your community.

BASIC HALF DAY PROGRAM: Beginners to Intermediates, ages 7 to 13 years meet for the 1/2 day mostly mornings program, between 9-12 (Wed 1-3:30pm.) Schedule varies with location and within the week.
ONSTAGE PLUS : Getting serious? Ages 11-14, accepted at the discretion of the Director, includes all the activities of Onstage, PLUS 2 classes with the Advanced program, AND 2 extended days.
Participation in the PLUS Program for a minimum of two years, before acceptance into the Advanced program. Or, students must be taking additional on-going dance classes during the year to meet the expectations of the Advanced level dance classes.

FULL DAY PROGRAM - ADVANCED STUDENTS: ages 13-20+ years (minimum 3+ years of dance training twice or more/ week within the past 4 years, or age 14, with three previous OnStage and currently taking minimum of bi-weekly classes). Classes in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Specialty classes, Conditioning, Partnering. This is a rigorous program, 9am-3:30pm. Students are divided according to experience and ability on first day after placement class. Each summer program varies on emphasis in Modern or Ballet depending upon student backgrounds.

In the heart of the High Peaks region in Lake Placid, RKB offered a Public Performance during the last week of its Artists-in-Residence. Here was a chance to see RKB's freshest previews and repertory works for the season.
